Reasons for using copper in electrical appliances
Copper functions as a good conductor of electricity and heat because of the availability of free electrons in their valence shells.
These electrons are loosely bound to the atom and can conduct ions and energy.
It can also resist heat.
Copper is highly ductile. Ductility is one of the physical properties of metals by which they can be stretched into thin wires and Copper is an example of a ductile material.
