To make the gases needed for the Fischer-Tropsch process, many steps are required. For example, all chemicals entering the reactor must have all sulfur removed. Fischer-Tropsch catalysts are famous for being extremely sensitive to the addition of sulfur. Hence, Iron oxide is used to remove sulphur from a mixture of water gas and hydrogen.
