  • In hydrated copper sulfate, there are five water molecules.

Heating of hydrated copper sulfate.

Due to heating, hydrated blue-colored copper sulfate(CuSO4.5H2O) loses water and turns into anhydrous white-colored copper sulfate (CuSO4).

Thus Anhydrous copper sulfate is used for testing water.
