Solution

During the sexual reproduction, an egg (n) contains the half genetic information, as well as sperm (n) also contains the half genetic information. During the fertilization, sperm fuse with the egg and form the zygote (2n). During this process DNA of sperm and egg also fuse, which ensures that a child inherits half of the character from one parent and the half from another parent due to which child show different character from both the parent.
