Solution:
Cost of 1 kg of tomato = ₹80
Therefore, the cost of $\frac{3}{4}$ kg of tomato
= $\frac{3}{4}\times ₹80$ = (3 × ₹80) ÷ 4 = ₹240 ÷ 4 = ₹60
Cost of 1 kg of onion = ₹22
Therefore, the cost of $2\frac{1}{2}$ kg of onion
= $2\frac{1}{2}\times ₹22$ = $2\times ₹22+\frac{1}{2}\times ₹22=₹44+₹11=₹55$
Total cost of $\frac{3}{4}$ kg of tomato and $2\frac{1}{2}$ kg of onion = ₹60 + ₹55 = ₹115
