$\Rightarrow$ Cost of 20 envelopes = Rs 20x ....(ii)
From (i) and (ii), we can write

20x = 50
So, $x=\frac{50}{20}=\frac{5}{2}=Rs2.5$
$\Rightarrow$ Cost of one envelope = Rs 2.5
So, for 10 rupees, $\frac{10}{2.5}=4$ envelopes could be purchased.
