Cost of 20 Pencils is 100 Rupees

Cost of 1 Pencil is $\frac{100}{20}$ = 5 Rupees.

Given that, cost of a pen is 40 more than 8 times the cost of a pencil.

Cost of a pen $= 40 + 8 (5)$

Cost of a pen = 80 Rupees.

Cost of 5 Pencils and 6 Pens $= 5 (5) + 6 (80)$

$= 25 + 480$

$= 25 + 480$ =505 Rupees.
