Solution
The correct option is B Large jaws The emergence of Neanderthals took place around 1 lakh to 2 lakh years ago in the early and middle Paleolithic era. They were first discovered in Neanderthal valley of Germany in 1856. They were more muscular than later Homo sapiens but with weak jaws. Their skulls were flatter with broad noses and pronounced ridges on the forehead. It is believed that they died out due to their weak jaws and eventually lost out to their smarter, more advanced cousins- Cro magnons. Cro magnons were first discovered from a cave in France around 35,000 to 10,000 years ago. They had broader faces with strong jaws, more muscle and slightly large brain. They used tools, spoke, lived in huts, wore skins, wove cloth and even made cave paintings.
