Solution

The correct options are
A Phenotypic recombinant frequency.
B Genotypic recombinant frequency.
Crossing over is the process of exchange of genetic material between non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes to produce new genetics combinations or variations. Recombination frequency is percent of occurrence of recombinant phenotypes in total offspring. As we know that recombinant genotypes are result of cross over; cross over frequency is directly proportional to recombination frequency. The more distantly located are the gene, the more are the chances of cross over between them and the more are the percent of recombinant genotypes in offspring. Phenotype is expression of genetic constitution of an organism, thus genetic recombination frequency is expressed as recombinant phenotype which in turn gives measure of cross over; this makes options A and B correct. Set of chromosomes present in nucleus of a gamete constitute haploid number of that species. Presence of two sets of haploid chromosomes gives diploid number of chromosomes. For example, human egg (gamete) has 23 chromosomes but a somatic cell has 46 chromosomes, thus haploid chromosome number of human is 23 while its diploid number is 46.
