Let Voltage drop across the terminals of the cell be V.
From kirchhoff's voltage law and ohm's law: V=ε+ir
So, the power loss across the cell =iV
=iε+i2r
where, i2r is the heat generated across the internal resitance , that is heat produced in the cell.
And iε is the rate of energy stored as chemical energy.
