(i) Find radius of the base and
(ii) total surface area of the cone.

Solution

Given,
Curved Surface Area of cone, CSA=308 cm2
& slant height, l=14 cm.

(i) Lets evaluate radius using curved surface area of cone formula,

CSA=πrl308=227×r×14308=22×r×2r=30844r=7 cm

Hence, the radius of the cone is equal to 7 cm.

(ii) Lets evaluate the total surface area of the cone using curved surface area and base area,

Total surface area of the cone=πrl+πr2=308+227×7×7=308+22×1×7=308+154=462 cm2
Hence, the total surface area of the cone is 462 cm2.
