Question

Curved surface area of a cone is 308 cm2 and its slant height is 14 cm. Find
(i) radius of the base and
(ii) total surface area of the cone.

Given:Curved surface area of cone=308sq.cm
πrl=308
227×r×14=308
r=3082×22=7cm
the radius of the circular end of the cone is 7cm.
(ii)Total surface area of cone=πr(l+r)
=227×7×(14+7)=227×7×21=462cm2
, the total surface area of the cone is 462cm2
