After I had been left on Quta-pi for my initiation, I was picked
up by an explorer spaceship from Earth. The humans took me to their
planet and kept me under observation in a glass chamber. They had no
idea about the conditions I lived in or the food I ate. I nearly died
in that chamber. All my feathers and whiskers fell off, and I became
very weak. Every time I slept, I dreamed about you and home. I
thought I would never see you again. But one day I found the door
open because the food tray had jammed in the door. I escaped from my
prison, and hid near the house of a lady who grew a strange prickly
plant. It tasted bad, but it was food. Next I searched for
companions. I found two furry creatures, but they were useless. Then
I met a human infant. He proved a very good friend, and I used to
converse with him in his sleep. I learned a lot about the human race.
As my feathers grew, I had to be more careful. Then one day you got
my message. Now I am glad to be home. The earth with only one sun and
one moon was quite a good learning experience.
