Question

Cyclists wear a helmet to protect their head from injuries. The skull functions in the same way as a helmet and it serves to protect the brain. However, unlike a helmet, the skull is made of many smaller bones. Which kind of joint do you think keeps those smaller bones intact?

Solution

The human skull is made up of smaller bones which are held together by fixed joints. These joints allow no or very little room for movement. In humans, these fixed joints are the structural supports that build our face.
