Open in App
Solution

The statement is false.

Protoplasm is considered as the physical basis of life. The protoplasm of a cell consists of a nucleus, cell membrane, and the cytoplasm. Thus, cytoplasm is a part of the protoplasm of a cell. Cytoplasm and protoplasm are cell suspensions and provide a site for biological processes to take place. The protoplasm is bound by a plasma membrane or cell membrane on all sides whereas the cytoplasm is a substance which is present surrounding the nucleus of a cell.
