We have,
$p^{2} - q + r, q^{2} - r + p a n d r^{2} - p + q = p^{2} - q + r + q^{2} - r + p + r^{2} - p + q$
On combining the like terms,
$= p^{2} + q^{2} + r^{2} - q + q + r - r + p - p = p^{2} + q^{2} + r^{2} + 0 + 0 + 0 = p^{2} + q^{2} + r^{2}$
