​ (a) Right side of the heart pumps blood into the lungs. The right side of the heart receives deoxygenated blood from the veins and pumps it to the lungs, where the blood picks up oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide.​ ​

(b) Left side of the heart pumps blood into the entire body (except the lungs).The left side of the heart receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and pumps it through arteries to the rest of the body.​ ​ ​ ​
