Solution

Dear Student,
i) Nitre or KNO3 reacts with Conc. H2SO4 forming nitric acid and a precipitate of potassium bisulphate.
KNO3+H2SO4HNO3+KHSO4
This shows the strong acidic properties of sulphuric acid. It is stronger than Nitric acid and displaces it from its salt solution.

ii) Hot concentrated sulphuric acid acts as an oxidizing agent and reacts with carbon forming carbon dioxide. During the reaction the oxidation number of sulphur changes from +6 to +4
C+2H2SO4CO2+2SO2+2H2O
