According to Dalton's law of partial pressures, for a mixture of non-reacting gases, the total pressure is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the individual gases.

This law is not applicable to the mixtures H2+Cl2,NH3+HCl and SO2+Cl2 as they react with each other.
