Cost price of the washing machine = C.P = Rs 10,000
Loss % = 12%
We know that
$$\begin{gathered} \mathrm{Loss}\%=\frac{\mathrm{Loss}}{\mathrm{C}.\mathrm{P}}\times 100 \\ \Rightarrow 12=\frac{\mathrm{Loss}}{10000}\times 100 \\ \Rightarrow 12=\frac{\mathrm{Loss}}{100} \\ \Rightarrow 12\times 100=\mathrm{Loss} \end{gathered}$$
Loss = Rs 1200
Now, S.P = C.P ˗ Loss
= Rs 10000 ˗ Rs 1200
= Rs 8800
∴ Selling price of the washing machine is Rs 8800.
