Solution

The correct option is B Rs. 5000
Let x,y and z be the amounts invested in schemes A,B and C respectively.
Then, (x×10×1100)+(y×12×1100)+(z×15×1100)=3200
10x+12y+15z=320000 ..........(i)
Given, z=240% of y= 240100×y=125y ..........(ii)
and z=150% of x=150100×x=32x
x=23z=23×125y=85y ..........(iii)
From (i), (ii) and (iii), we have
10×85y+12y+15×125y=320000
16y+12y+36y=32000064y=320000
y=32000064=5000
sum invested in scheme B= Rs. 5000
