The main cause of decline in death rate has the improvement in the infant mortality rate. Earlier, lot of babies used to die at infancy because of poor quality of health care and the non-availability of vaccines against various diseases. But the use of vaccine of has spread immensely since the time of Independence. There has also been a general improvement in health care facilities. As a result, infant mortality has come down, which has reduced the death rate.
