The Speaker of the Lok Sabha is elected by the Lok Sabha from amongst it's members. The Speaker is the head of the Lok Sabha, and its representative. He is the custodian of Lok Sabha i.e., he is the guardian of powers and privileged of the members, the House as a whole and it's committees.
