Solution
Algae:
Algae are chlorphyll-bearing, simple and thalloid structures.
There are three types of algae namely green algae, brown algae and red algae.
Red algae and brown algae occur in the well-lighted region of sea and also at the great depth in oceans.
The pigment found in red and brown algae can absorb the blue light and can perform photosynthesis.
Blue light can penetrate to the depths of oceans and hence these algae are present at the great depth of oceans.
