Deficiency of iron in an adolescent's diet causes a condition called
Infertility
Anaemia is a condition caused either by a reduction in the number of red blood cells (RBC) or due to the deficiency of haemoglobin. Iron plays an important role in haemoglobin production. In the absence of a sufficient amount of RBCs or haemoglobin, oxygen transport also reduces. Cells get less oxygen to produce energy. The person affected from anaemia, thus, feels weak and exhausted.
