Deficiency of iron in the food leads to_________.
Anaemia
Deficiency of iron in the food leads to anaemia. Iron is an important element required for the formation of the red pigment haemoglobin present in RBCs. This respiratory pigment is necessary for carrying oxygen to all the cells of the body. If iron is less in the food, it leads to decreased haemoglobin which is called anemia. The symptoms include easy fatigue, unusually rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath, particularly with exercise.
