Solution

Each point: 1 Mark

1. Mendel's law of dominance states that if a cross is made between plants with contrasting pairs of characters, the character that appears in the first generation is dominant and the other is recessive.

2. Mendel's law of segregation states that allele pairs separate or segregate during gamete formation, and randomly unite at fertilization.

3. Mendel's law of independent assortment states that allele pairs separate independently during the formation of gametes. Therefore, traits are transmitted to offspring independently of one another.
