(a) Photic region is the surface layer of the ocean that receives sunlight. It is also called as euphotic zone. It is the uppermost 260 feet of the ocean. In this region, photosynthesis by phytoplankton and plants takes place.
(b) Phycocolloids are also called as algal colloids. Brown algae have a colloidal covering over their cell wall which consists of many polysaccharides. This is called as phycocolloids.
(c) Kelps are large, flat, brown algal seaweed and belongs to Laminariaceae family . These are used as food and as source of sources of alginates.
(d) Moss are tiny, flowerless plants belonging to subclass Musci of bryophytic plants.
(e) Ovule is the female reproductive structure. It is a part of the ovary that contains female germ cell. After fertilization, it becomes the seed.
