When an event only has one outcome of the experiment then it is called an elementary event.

The sum of the probabilities of all the elementary events of an experiment is always one.

Every element of the sample space of an experiment is also called an elementary event,

For eg. When a die is rolled, the outcome of getting 3 is an elementary event.
