A diet that contains all the necessary and principal constituents of the food in a proper quantity is known as a Balanced Diet.

A balanced diet is dependent upon four aspects

  1. Age of the individual.
  2. Sex of the person
  3. Lifestyle.
  4. Requirements of the individual.

Example: A diet having both the essential macronutrients and micronutrients can be considered as a balanced diet.
