When a light ray is incident on a plane mirror, at the point of incidence a normal is drawn such that it is perpendicular to the surface of the mirror at the point of incidence.
The incident ray gets reflected. The reflected ray makes and angle with the normal.
At the point of incidence the reflected ray makes an angle with the normal, this angle is called as angle of reflection.
Hence, the angle made by the reflected ray with the normal at the point of incidence is called as angle of reflection.
