  1. Assimilation is a key step after the digestion is complete within the small intestine.
  2. The digested food absorbed by the blood via villi is then carried to all the cells of the body.
  3. Hence, this entire process of transferring digested food to each and every, body tissue and individual cell is known as assimilation.
