Botulism is the condition in which there is paralysis of the muscles. This is a disease which is developed due to the toxin released by the infection of the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The organism releases botulinum toxin which causes the stiffness and then the paralysis of the muscles. There is difficulty in chewing, swallowing and breathing.
