Capacitive reactance is defined as the total opposition to the current due to a capacitor , and is given by ,

$X_c=1/\omega C=1/2\pi fC$ ,

where $\omega =$ angular frequency of circuit and $f=$ frequency of circuit ,

for DC , $f=0$ , so $X_c=\infty$ , capacitor doesn't allow the DC to pass through it .

Its S.I. unit is ohm( $\Omega$ ).
