Copulation:

  1. It is the process of sexual intercourse between two individuals of the same species to produce their offspring and maintain generation continuity.
  2. In the process of copulation, the male and the female partner contact each other.
  3. The male penis is inserted into the vagina of a female.
  4. Friction due to rhythmic movements of the penis stimulates the release of semen into the vagina.
  5. This is called emission.
  6. Then, the wave-like contractions of the muscles at the base of the penis cause forceful discharge of the semen into the vagina. This is known as ejaculation.
