Land that has the ability to establish vegetative cover and which is not utilized due to various restrictions to differing degrees, like erosion, water logging, salinity, etc. is called Culturable Waste Land.
Culturable Waste Land comprises land available for cultivation, either taken up or just not taken up once for harvesting, but not harvested over the last five years more than in sequence, including that of the current year.
Such land may be either fallow or filled by shrubs and jungles that are not being used at all.
They may be either available or unavailable and may exist inside cultivated properties or in separated sections.
