  • Metalloids can be defined as chemical elements whose physical and chemical properties fall in between the metal and non-metal categories.
  • For example - Silicon(Si), Germanium(Ge), etc.

The properties of metalloids are as follows -

  • All the metalloids are found in solid-state.
  • Just like metals, metalloids also have a metallic luster.
  • Metalloids are brittle like non-metals.
  • Metalloids act as semiconductors which is a very important component of electric circuits.
