Define efflorescence with suitable examples?

  • When we exposed some crystal substance to dry air for a short time. It loses wholly or partly its water of crystallisation. This property of such a substance is efflorescence.

Example: Na2CO3.H2O(Sodium carbonate monohydrate)

This is also called Washing Soda When we are exposed to air it loses its water content.
