Define electricity?what is static and current electricity?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles (such as electrons or protons), either statically as an accumulation of charge or dynamically as a current.

Static electricity is the study of charges at rest.

When electric charges are built up on the surface of a material, that surface is said to have static electricity. It is usually caused by rubbing materials together.

Current electricity is a constant flow of electrons.
