  2. Example - Zinc (Zn), Oxygen (O).

Compounds:

  1. It is a substance that is formed by mixing two or more elements in a defined ratio.
  2. Example - Water (H2O), sodium chloride or common salt (NaCl).

Mixtures:

  1. It is a substance made by mixing two or more pure substances in an undefined proportion.
  2. Example - Sugar solution, brass.
