Solution

Evolution is defined as a slow, gradual, continuous and irreversible changes through which the present day complex forms have descended from their simple pre-existing forms of the past.
  • There are four principles of Darwin's theory of natural selection:
  • The individuals in the same population show variations.
  • These variations can be inherited from the individual from one generation to the next generation.
  • The process of reproduction leads to generation of many offsprings then can survive.
  • The production of many offsprings leads to increase in the chances that more variations may be passed on to the next generation.
This theory explains the inheritance of the characters or traist to the next generation. There is no information provided related to the origin of life.
