Forced vibrations:

  1. When a vibration takes place under the influence of external periodic force then it is called a forced vibration.
  2. Also when the body vibrates due to an external periodic force other than its own natural frequency then we can say that it is forced vibration.
  3. For example: When the wire of a sitar or a guitar is plucked, its board and wind box make forced vibrations.
