Define Fusion.

Solution
The process by which a substance changes from a solid state to a liquid state is called
fusion.
Fusion is also called melting
When we supply heat to a solid substance, they gain energy and start vibrating in its own position.
A point is reached where they gain enough energy to overcome the force of interaction and thus start moving and change into a liquid.
For example, when ice is heated at
0
°
C
(273 K) the intermolecular force breaks down between the ice particles and thus converts into a liquid state.
