Guttation :

  1. Guttation is the process of secretion of water droplets from the pores of some vascular plants like grass.
  2. Guttation is the loss of water in the form of water droplets from hydathodes (small pores) on the leaf margin of a small herbaceous plant.
  3. The liquid of guttation comprises a variety of inorganic and organic compounds which mainly include potassium and sugars.
  4. A white crust remains on the leaf surface.
