Solution
Hybridisation is the process by which two different varieties of plants or animals with desired characteristics are mated or crossed. The resultant plant or animal will have the characteristics of both the parent plants or animals.
The hybridisation occurs between the same species but having different strains or races or varieties is known as intervarietal hybridisation.
Interspecific hybridisation occurs when two different species are involved in mating and formation of hybrids.
