Definition - The gases which do not react with any other element under normal conditions are called inert gases.

Important points about inert gases -

  1. These are also called noble gases.
  2. They usually exist in the free state (atoms).

Examples - Helium(He), Argon(Ar), krypton(Kr), etc.
