Infectious agents:

  1. Any microorganism that is capable of inducing a disease, disorder, or any form of illness in the host organism into which it gains entry or comes into contact, is termed an infectious agent.
  2. In a majority of cases, these are pathogenic bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasitic worms, and protozoans.
  3. Inanimate objects like contaminated medical equipment or personal belongings of an infected individual may also serve as infectious agents that transfer the disease through contaminated bl]odily fluids like blood.
