Infertility is defined as failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months of unprotected sexual intercourse. The two Assisted Reproductive Technologies are as follows: 1. In-Vitro Fertilisation or Test tube baby
2. Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) 3. Intra Fallopian Gamete Transfer Test Tube Baby is a method of in-vitro fertilization in which the sperm can be obtained from the husband or the donor and the ovum can be obtained from the wife or the donor and allowed to fertilize in a test tube or petri dish to form a zygote. When the zygote divides and forms around 32 cells, this stage can be implanted in the uterus of the wife or the surrogate mother to complete the gestation period. This procedure is helpful in conception for couples with low sperm count, female sterility, and unfavorable uterus.
