Solution

Inter-molecular force: The force of attraction between molecules is called intermolecular force.

Anything that occupies some space and has some mass is called matter.

Matter exists in three states:

Solid – They have strong intermolecular forces of attraction between the particles.

Liquid - They have the less intermolecular force of attraction as compared to solids in between the particles of liquids.

Gas - They have very negligible intermolecular forces of attraction in between the particles.
