Define: Inter-molecular space

Open in App
Solution

Inter-molecular space: The intermolecular force of attraction between two particles increases, if the space between them decreases and vice versa. This space between the molecules is called intermolecular space.

Anything that occupies some space and has some mass is called matter.

Matter exists in three states:

Solid – They have negligible spaces between the particles.

Liquid - They have few spaces in between the particles.

Gas - They have very large spaces in between the particles.
